One of many: The German national basketball player Dennis Schröder is currently in the NBA’s corona protocol. The reason for the break is the violent wave of infections that is spreading in the USA.
Milwaukee. Dennis Schröder (28) also got it on Christmas Day (December 25, 2021): Shortly before the start of the Christmas Game on Saturday at Meister Milwaukee Bucks, the Boston Celtics announced that the German national basketball player had been included in the NBA’s corona protocol, means: it is in quarantine.
In total, the record champion was missing nine players because of Corona. Due to some injuries, the Celtics only had a rump squad with twelve players, of which only eight were used by the Bucks. Five Celtics players had already been removed from the team on Christmas Eve – including Center Enes Kanter Freedom (29).
NBA superstar Antetokounmpo dominates comeback
Despite the failures, Boston came close to the surprise and lost after a long and sometimes clear lead (19 points) only just 113: 117. At Milwaukee, superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo (27) scored 36 points on his comeback as the best thrower of the game. The final MVP of the preseason had been condemned to watch by the corona protocol since December 14th.
The Celtics are among the most severely affected teams in the league, which was weakened by the Omikron wave in the USA. Before the game in Milwaukee, they equipped Forward Al-Farouq Aminu (31) and Center Norvel Pelle (28) with ten-day contracts. They had previously signed ex-all star Joe Johnson (40).
Due to the Corona outages, the NBA the start of the G-League of the farm teams from December 27th to January 5th. The NBA teams are currently replenishing their roster with substitute players who are providing them with short-term contracts – many of them from the G-League.
Mavs competitive despite Corona failures

The Brooklyn Nets were also badly affected recently. NBA superstar Curry finally shows that he can also play Christmas games
Led by the outstanding Stephen Curry (33), the Golden State Warriors won the top game at the Phoenix Suns in the North American professional basketball league NBA on Christmas Day. The superstar scored a total of 33 points at 116: 107, setting a personal record at the so-called Christmas Games. For the Warriors star, it was the first Christmas game with more than 20 points.
The three-man narrowly missed another milestone: With five converted long-range throws, the point guard now has 2999 three-pointers in his NBA career. The exceptional talent had posted his 2974th three-point throw in the US professional league in the middle of the month and thus improved the old record of sniper Ray Allen (46).
