Naomi Osaka among the 25 most influential women of 2021 according to the “Financial Times”

Naomi Osaka may have moved away from the courts in recent months, the Japanese continues to pile up the distinctions. After being honored last October by the Women’s Sports Foundation for its awareness of social justice and mental health, Osaka has just been honored with the Financial Times.

The British daily placed her among the 25 most influential women of the year 2021, alongside the actress Scarlett Johansson, the Afghan student and activist Sotooda Forotan or the speaker of the House of Representatives of the States- United Nancy Pelosi.

“Naomi charts her own path and is celebrated for showing us that ‘it is good not to be good'”

It was women’s tennis icon Billie Jean King who wrote the portrayal of Osaka in the Financial Times. « Naomi is one of the most successful businesswomen in sport, a racial justice activist and she transcends sport, considers the American. […] She has inspired people around the world and sparked a conversation about mental health that applies not only to athletes but to all human beings. Very often, athletes have a personality, a brand and an image that they feel compelled to uphold. Naomi charts her own path and is celebrated for showing us that “it’s good not to be good”. She is a true champion in sport and in life. »
