Miten forges ‘Comets’ victory over AHL

Latvian hockey goalkeeper Mareks Mitens helped his representative Utica “Comets” to win the overtime in the regular championship game of the American Hockey League (AHL) on Friday.

“Comets” beat Cleveland’s “Monsters” 3: 2 (0: 0, 1: 1, 1: 1, 1: 0).

Miten was on the ice for 60 minutes and 32 seconds, repelling 24 of the 26 opponents’ shots.

Fabian Seterlund scored two goals in the scoring unit, and Reilie Walsh and Tyler Waterpoon scored two assists.

Ventspils entered the goal for the second time this season. Miten conceded an average of 1.49 puck in the match, repelled 94.0% of the opponents’ show and won two victories.

The Providence “Bruins”, represented by Eduards Tralmak, lost to Lavala’s Rocket with the result 3: 6 (2: 1, 0: 4, 1: 1). Tralmaks earned two penalty minutes in the game and ended the game with a neutral efficiency.

In another game, Harald Egle lost to Manitoba’s “Moose” away game with a score of 1: 4 (1: 1, 0: 1, 0: 2) in Iowa’s Wild. Spruce threw the opponent’s goal three times in the match and accumulated a neutral efficiency.

In the regular championship, until the end of April, the teams will play an unequal number of games – 76, 72, or 68 -, dividing the places according to the points / match ratio won.

It is planned that starting from next season, all units in the regular tournament will play 72 games.
