Mark Caljouw and mixed doublestabeling-Piek to eighth finals World Championship Badminton

Mark Caljouw (WR-28) took on Kalle Koljonen (WR-69) from Finland in the second round. The Dutchman lost the first game 21-14. In the second game, Caljouw survived two match points and narrowly won 22-20. In the decisive third game Caljouw was lord and master and won 21-11.

Robin Tafeling / Selena Piek (WR-20) easily reached the last sixteen in the mixed doubles. In the second round against Oliver Leydon-Davis / Anona Pak (WR-59) from New Zealand it became 21-11 and 21-5 for the Orange duo.

Ruben Jille / Ties van der Lecq (WR-48) started very strong in their match against Olympic champions Chi-Lin Wang and Yang Lee (WR-3) from Chinese Tapei. The Dutch snatched the first game from the Asians with 21-18. Then the class of Wang and Lee came up and they took the win 21-7 and 21-11.

Also for Imke van der Aar and Alyssa Tirtosentono the curtain fell in the second round. The number 46 in the world lost 21-12 and 21-5 to Rachel Honderich / Kristen Tsai (WR-23) from Canada.
