Luis Díaz, voted best player of November in Portugal, Porto enjoys his goals | Colombians Abroad

Luis Díaz is, without any discussion, the most outstanding man in Porto. Yes, he could not avoid the recent elimination of the Champions League at the hands of Atlético de Madrid (defeat 3-1) but few do what he has been able to achieve in the Portuguese league.

The winger has just been voted best player in the local league for the month of November, an award granted by the Professional Footballers Union. That is to say, the footballers themselves choose him as the most outstanding.

Díaz obtained 18.30 percent of the votes, beating Uruguayan Darwin Núñez, from Benfica (14.33 percent) and Japan’s Shoya Nakajima, from Portimonense (9.88 percent).

And it is that Díaz played a total of 174 minutes last month, enough to score two goals against Santa Clara (3-0) and once against Vitoria Guimaraes (2-1). His personal account goes to 10 annotations, which make him the top scorer of the leading team of the local tournament (35 units).

The recognition, which is not negligible, encourages, in any case, a debate: has Porto been too small for such an outstanding player? It is worth mentioning that the Colombian has been linked in the past with teams such as Roma, Tottenham and, more recently, Klopp’s Liverpool. The truth is that without the Champions League showcase, although the Europa League remains as a consolation, it seems that Díaz will be affected. It may be a good time to think about a way out to a larger pond, where you feel more comfortable.
