Ludwigsburg reaches the next round of the Champions League – Ulm on course for the round of 16

The basketball players of the MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg qualified ahead of time for the second group phase of the Champions League. In contrast, Crailsheim suffered a narrow defeat.

On the penultimate matchday of Group A, Ludwigsburg won surprisingly clearly at Iberostar Tenerife with 99:83 (53:31) and secured first place with 4-1 wins over the Spaniards. Only the group winner jumps directly into the so-called Top 16.

Coach John Patrick’s team dominated the match from the start and was already clearly leading with 26:14 after ten minutes. Until the break, the guests extended their lead to 22 points. Jonah Radebaugh and Co. were particularly accurate from a distance. Overall, the Ludwigsburg met twelve three-point litters. Therefore, despite a slightly better host, the away win on the holiday island was never in danger after the break.

In addition to top scorer Radebaugh (20 points) and playmaker Jordan Hulls (15), five other Ludwigsburg met in the double-digit range.

Crailsheim loses the start of the 2nd round of the Europe Cup

The Hakro Merlins Crailsheim, on the other hand, started the second group phase of the Europe Cup with a defeat. The Bundesliga basketball team lost on Wednesday against GB Reggio Emilia from Italy with 80:84 (37:38). The hosts’ most successful throwers were Elias Lasisi with 19 points and center Bogdan Radosavljevic (18 points).

The game at the start of Group J was balanced over the entire season. The guests from Northern Italy led after the first quarter (22:17), Crailsheim reduced to one point by half time. Even after the third round, no team was able to pull away (59: 61/30th minute).

The decision was therefore made at the last minute. While the team of coach Sebastian Gleim acted too hastily on the offensive, the guests were accurate and could just win.

ratiopharm Ulm has improved its chances of reaching the round of 16 of the Eurocup basketball. At the Spanish club CB Gran Canaria, coach Jaka Lakovic’s team won on Wednesday evening
96:81 (48:37) and is fifth after the 6th matchday in Group B with 3: 3 wins. The best eight teams of the two groups reach the knockout round.

The Bundesliga team got off to a good start and was five points ahead after the first quarter. The Ulm team were also better in the second round and went into the break with 48:37. After the break, the guests did not let the Spaniards get any closer and earned their third success of this Eurocup season. In Ulm, the trio around Jaron Blossomgame (25 points), Semaj Christon (18) and Sindarius Thornwell (17) convinced.
