Extremadura archery ended its 2021 with the dispute of the regional championship in the room, that had Badajoz as the stage and the local club, Ibn Marwan, as its organizer. The Nuria Cabanillas pavilion was the scene of an intense day in which more than 60 archers, who competed both individually and in teams. The level, which was under the supervision of Judge Manuel González Zambrano, was high.
Was nine different modalities in contention. In recurve senior men, Raúl Calvo (Villa de Moraleja) beat, followed by Alejandro Rodríguez and Rafael Tejada, both from Ibn Marwan, while in women the best was Henar Quintano –also from the Badajoz club–, beating Sara Mínguez (San Jorge) and his teammate Ana María Chávez.
In compound, the best male goalkeeper was Miguel Ramos (La Zarza), completing the podium Pablo González (San Jorge) and Julio Gordillo (Arqueros de Sansonia) and in female Fátima Agudo fulfilled the predictions marked by Rocío Noguera and Raquel de San Macario, the three of the San Jorge.
In instinctive senior, Francisco Javier Carrero (San Jorge) was more accurate than Aureliano Sánchez and David Silva, owners of Ibn Marwan and who were second and third. As a veteran of this specialty, Manuel Fernández (Arkeros La Vera) achieved a higher score than those of Antonio Mesa and Pedro Méndez, both members of Ibn Marwan.
The winners table was completed by José Luis Garrido (Santa Eulalia) ahead of Manuel Muñoz (Santa Eulalia) and Francisco Ramón (Sansonia) in senior nude; Francisco Jiménez (San Jorge) with Santiago Sánchez (Sansonia) and Christofer Gálvez (La Vera) second and third in the mixed novel competition and Basilio Domínguez (San Jorge) beating Pedro Robustillo (Bellotarco) and Juan Antonio Rubio (San Jorge) in senior longbow.
All this reveals a dominance in the medal table by the Club Arqueros San Jorge, from Cáceres, which totaled nine (four gold, three silver and two bronze), followed by Ibn Marwan (one, three and four). More minority, without exceeding the number of the three podiums, were the rest of the participating entities.
The Extremadura Federation She is satisfied with how everything developed, both at a sporting and organizational level, and is already working on new competitions for 2022.
