REPUBLIC OF BOBOTOH – Persib Bandung is rumored to be reshuffling players in the second round of Liga 1 for the 2021-2022 season. Maung Bandung’s front line is the sector that is most highlighted.
Even though Wander Luiz and Geoffrey Castillion started to open up the taps, their performances were still considered to be fanciful.
Until the 14th week of Liga 1, Wander Luiz has packed 6 goals which makes him the most fertile player in Persib.
While Castillion scored 3 goals in 12 appearances in the midst of his condition which often suffers from fitness problems and injuries.
Rumors circulated that Persib was targeting several star players circulating in League 1 and those who had played in Indonesia before to increase their pounding power.
Among them are Irfan Jaya (PSS Sleman), Ciro Alves (Persikabo 1973), and David Da Silva who is now a free agent after his contract at Malaysian club Terengganu FC ended on November 30, 2021.
Apart from technical reasons, rumors of Castillion and Wander Luiz potentially being released by Persib, also cannot be separated from the duration of their contracts which are rumored to be ending soon.
According to Transfermarkt website records, Wander Luiz’s contract will expire on December 31, 2021. Meanwhile, Castillion’s contract will expire on March 1, 2022.
However, the expiration date of the contracts for the two players is still an estimate and has not been confirmed directly from the management of PT Persib Bandung Dignity (PBB).
Apart from that, the remaining three matches in the first round seem to be an opportunity for Wander Luiz and Castillion to prove they still deserve a longer place at Persib. Persib will next face Madura United, Persebaya and Persik Kediri.
Although it is widely reported that he is approaching a number of players, the Director of PT PBB, Teddy Tjahjono, is still reluctant to talk much about player transfers.
In addition to trying to deny it, Teddy also stated that there had been no talks with Robert regarding the hunt for players.
Teddy revealed that the team was still focused on the remaining first-round matches and was still annoyed with the two defeats suffered in the last three matches.
