Christian Horner has been able to enjoy the past Formula 1 season. The team boss thinks even the best Hollywood screenwriter couldn’t have come up with this season.

It was a season not soon to be forgotten in Formula 1. Max Verstappen became the world champion after a blistering denouement in Abu Dhabi, where he managed to pass his big competitor Lewis Hamilton on the last lap. It was the icing on the cake after a crazy season with several bizarre moments and crucial highlights.

Horner is pleased with this kind of spectacle and thinks Stefano Domenicali, CEO of Formula 1, will also be satisfied with the season on offer. “Stefano can bring Red Bull a huge Christmas gift for the excitement, for the racing and for the drama. I think it happened 47 years ago that two drivers started the last race with an equal number of points,” says the British.

He continues. “I don’t think any scriptwriter in Hollywood could have come up with the ins and outs of this year. And Formula 1’s popularity has gone through the roof. The final was probably the biggest sporting event in the world this year. And the number of new fans that we have been able to welcome is unbelievable, phenomenal,” he concludes.
