The president of the Venezuelan Basketball Federation (FVB), Hanthony Coello, expressed himself excited after the conclusion of the tournament and reiterated that the goal – as always – is to stay.

“We want to congratulate all the Super League teams and from the FVB we want to confirm that women’s basketball is here to stay. Next year we will return ”Coello assured.

“Congratulations to Anzoátegui, champion of the first edition … Long live the youth and long live the Venezuelan woman, always brave”added the federative, who since the presentation of the tournament has insisted on the importance of Venezuelan basketball growing in all its modalities and categories, both for men and women.

For his part, the president of the Women’s Super League, José Pineda, highlighted the quality that was evidenced in the competition that brought together five teams and more than 70 athletes.

“The girls did the job, all the games – almost 50 games – were high quality games … we saw a lot of tactical discipline in the scheme of each of the teams and even better, a lot of desire to improve”Pineda said.

“There is a lot of young talent, the average age of the teams is close to 21 or 22 years old, but we also had players with a lot of experience who gave their teams security and strengthened the competition… This first edition was undoubtedly a resounding success ”He insisted.

Indeed, the road has just begun, but these first steps have exceeded expectations.

The players were able to overcome the inactivity that affected them for three years and adapted to a professional-grade calendar that was extremely demanding to finally show each day that they too play.
