European adventure Vitesse on the way: Tottenham is preparing an appeal

UEFA’s disciplinary committee decided to award Tottenham a 3-0 regulatory defeat after the final group match against Stade Rennais could not be played. The English had to contend with a large number of corona cases in the selection.

Due to that decision, Vitesse finished second in the group with ten points from six matches, which meant qualification for the next round of the Conference League.

‘Heavily disappointed’

“I, the club and our fans find it unbelievable that UEFA has made this decision,” said Conte. “I am very disappointed about that. It is very unfair. Matches have to be decided on the field. But it is not final yet. We still have a lot of confidence in a good outcome.”

Vitesse was linked to Rapid Wien in the draw for the intermediate round in the Conference League. The first game is on February 17 in the Austrian capital Vienna, the return in Arnhem a week later.
