Milan, December 14, 2021 – TheArmani AX Milano wins the second consecutive success in Euroleague after the one obtained against Monaco, defeating Panathinaikos 75-54 with authority. The watershed of the match was the second half, in which Olimpia tightened the defense shirts in an impressive way, conceding only 25 points in 20 ‘to the Greeks who finished with a disastrous 40% shooting. Even in attack things turned very well for Olimpia, dragged by the capital test of Devon Hall, author of 19 points with also an amazing 5/7 from beyond the three-point arc. To say the least precious, however, also the contribution offered in directing by Sergio Rodriguez with his 9 assists and that of the other veteran Kyle Hines, arrived at 14 points. The only player in double figures among the guests, stumbled upon as mentioned in a bad evening to say the least, was Daryl Macon, who took home a tally of 14 points.
The race
Just the American winger under the “Greens” held up the ranks of the Hellenic attack in a very intense first quarter and closed four points ahead of the guests (15-19). A gap, however, was quickly filled by Milan at the start of the second half with a 9-2 break embellished by the triple of +3 red and white designed by Chacho Rodriguez. Armani then even managed to increase this small margin of advantage at the end of a first half played on the edge of equilibrium (29-33). After the long break, however, Olimpia’s real change of pace arrived, which further tightened the defensive shirts and in attack began hitting the opponent’s basket with the plays of a dominant and inspiring Hines together with Delaney of the first advantage Milanese in double figures (40-29). Di Hall, on the other hand, the +16 bomb that definitively let the Armani off the bridle. Priftis then tried to play the zone defense card which slowed down Milan’s offensive mechanisms; Pana, however, was unable to go beyond -8; to remove the chestnuts from the fire was the tandem Hines-Rodriguez that has definitively relaunched the Olimpia race that has never looked back and closed the accounts thanks to Hall.
