The special story of La Carlota, founded through the Law of New Populations, will recreate itself in the streets of the municipality from December 17 to 19 in its XVIII Colonist Market of the Enlightenment, an event that only stopped in 2020 and is now being resumed with more force to recover and spread the Germanic past of the town.
The Palacio de la Merced, headquarters of the Diputación de Córdoba, has hosted the presentation of the program of this edition, which It will have as its epicenter the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, the Bulevar Carlos III and the Plaza de Abastos and that it will once again have the traditional Craft stalls, workshops, exhibitions, children’s entertainment, parades, acrobatics and various shows.
The delegate of Culture in the provincial institution, Health Razors, has highlighted that “this market allows the close up of the residents of the municipality to traditions and elements already lost and that are part of their Germanic origins. It is also an element of cultural and tourist attraction from the whole province to the German market ”.
In this sense, Antonio Granados, mayor of the municipality, highlights how “in recent years this recovery of our past has resulted in the twinning of our town with the Bavarian town of Konzell, and also in contact with German tour operators specialized in cultural trips from Germany or the Costa del Sol ”.
In addition, the councilor continued, “this recovery of the colonial culture has spread to the other municipalities of the colonial foundation and to those of other provinces and, in this way, we have achieved put in value a differentiating element with great repercussion in the development of the cultural activity of our towns ”.
Programming of the XVIII Colono Market
It begins on Friday, December 17, with the opening of the stands and exhibitions (falconry, espartería, smithy, playful tables) and with him parade inaugural, in which they will participate acrobats, musicians, etc.. In addition, at night there will be a fire and stunt show on aerial fabrics.
