Christian Eriksen: Everything ended at Inter – after the collapse of European Championship football

It was the most terrible scene of the European Championship last summer: Denmark star Christian Eriksen (29) suddenly collapsed in the group game against Finland due to a cardiac arrest and had to be reanimated on the pitch.

The sympathy in the football world was huge.

As a result of the arrhythmia that was subsequently determined, Eriksen was implanted with a defibrillator. Six months later, the Inter Milan midfielder started training again at the beginning of December, aiming for his comeback in professional football.

The problem: The regulations in Italy prevent the participation of players with an inserted defibrillator.

As a result, Eriksen and Inter have now jointly decided to terminate his contract, which will run until 2024.

According to Italian media reports, the dissolution was already bagged yesterday, and the official announcement followed today.

Inter: “Even if Inter and Christian go their separate ways today, our connection will last forever.”

The Dane played 60 games for Inter, scoring eight goals and preparing 33 more.

How things will go on for Eriksen is still unclear. Allegedly, his ex-club Ajax Amsterdam wants to take care of him.
