Champions League: Sergio Ramos package for PSG-Bruges

PSG will (again) have to do without Sergio Ramos. Absent in Lens last Saturday, the Spanish defender, who is clearly not yet 100% according to his club, will miss the reception of Bruges in the Champions League on Tuesday. “Sergio Ramos continues his work of gradual reintegration with the group for the next 3 days“, indicates Paris in an official press release.

The 35-year-old Spaniard, injured several times in 2021, including a calf, played on November 28 in Saint-Etienne (3-1) for the first time in six months. But he missed the next two meetings in the league, against Nice (0-0) on Wednesday and in Lens (1-1) on Saturday, due to a “muscle fatigue“, according to the club. Present in front of the cameras Monday morning at the training of the PSG open fifteen minutes to the press, Ramos could return to the competition Sunday against Monaco.

Kimpembe remained in care

Neymar (sprained ankle), absent until mid-January, and Julian Draxler, whose return is expected in early 2022, remain in the infirmary. Center-back Presnel Kimpembe remained in care on Monday morning, after receiving a shock to a calf in Lens. Meanwhile, full-back Colin Dagba trained separately, due to calf discomfort. For the two players, their presence on Tuesday is not compromised, the club said.

PSG receives Bruges for the last day of the group stage, having already qualified for the knockout stages of C1. The Parisians, second behind Manchester City, are sure to finish in second place, after their defeat in England (2-1) two weeks ago. The Bruges residents are neck and neck with RB Leipzig to try to finish third and thus be transferred to the Europa League.
