The former world No. 1, propelled director of Roland-Garros (until 2024) has already held many positions in the world of tennis.

Junior world champion in 1996, Amélie Mauresmo quickly distinguished herself at the highest level. The final won at the Australian Open in 1999 propelled her into another dimension. During the tournament, the young woman revealed her homosexuality. That year, in October, she won the first title of her 25 WTA titles (in Bratislava, dominating Kim Clijsters). In 2003, she participated in France’s victory in the Fed Cup. In 2004, she became the only No. 1 in the history of French Open tennis (men and women), and won the silver medal at the Athens Olympic Games. In 2005, she won the Masters, dominating Mary Pierce 5-7, 7-6 (3), 6-4. In 2006, she wears crowns at the Australian Open and Wimbledon. In February 2009, she won her last tournament on the circuit, the Open Gaz de France, in Paris. Before retiring in December.
