The owner of the New York Mets, Steve Cohen, announced this Saturday on his social networks that Buck Showalter is the new manager of the team, giving him a contract for 3 years and making him the leader of his new project.
According to the New York Post, Showalter will be the richest manager in franchise history, beating the $ 9.4 million contract Art Howe signed before the 2003 season.

Showalter, who will be presented this week at a press conference, was manager of the Yankees for 4 seasons, the Arizona Bells, Texas Rangers and Baltimore Orioles, with whom he was for 9 years. His record is 1,551 victories and 1,517 defeats in 3,069 matches.
