Baseball: Ildemaro Vargas sets new record with the Cardenales de Lara

CARACAS – Ildemaro Vargas (30 years old), inside of the Cardenales has established a new record for the Lara state franchise with his 22 hits in consecutive days. This trail of consecutive hits by the “pelotero”, born on July 16, 1991 in Caripito (in the Monagas state), began on November 16 at the José Pérez Colmenares stadium in Maracay, the day when the “crepusculares” were beaten by 10 – 13. by the Tigres de Aragua. In this period the Cardenales have taken home 13 wins and 9 losses.

Vargas’ record can continue today in the match against the Caracas Leones: kick-off in the Universitario stadium at 18:07.

The previous record was in the hand of one of the sacred monsters of Lara: Robert Pérez with 21 consecutive races with hits. The Cardenales are the second force of the tournament with 24 wins and 17 losses, ahead of them are the Navegantes of Magallanes (already confident of having a place in the round robin) with 28 wins and 13 knockouts.
