Badminton Xàtiva falls in Manises in the Club League

The Xàtiva Badminton Club lost in the second day of the National League of Second Division Clubs of the Valencian Community, against CB Manises and CB Infante de Murcia, although, despite the defeat, the Setabenses maintain the second place in the general classification . The second day, played in Manises, began with the meeting of CB Xàtiva against the local team. Vicent Molina and Maria Sanz fell in the mixed doubles; Maria and Andrea Orquín also gave up in the women’s double, but Andrea won the individual and closed the gap. Vicent Molina and David Polop gave up in the men’s double and the Setabense options ended, although Vicent won the individual, leaving the score at a final 2-3.

The same result was achieved by CB Xàtiva against CB Infante de Murcia. Vicent Molina and Maria Sanz started the match winning in the mixed double. Maria and Andrea Orquín yielded in the feminine double; and Vicent and David Polop also lost in the men’s double. But Andrea won the women’s individual and equalized the partial score, leaving everything pending for the men’s individual, in which David fell closing the match with a 2-3 final. Despite the defeat, CB Xàtiva continues to hold second place in group B, tied on points with CB Infante.

School Games for Benjamins

Xàtiva Badminton also played last weekend the first day of the Jocs Escolars in the youngest category, which took place in Enguera. Seven athletes from the Setabense club and the Xàtiva Municipal Badminton Sports School participated, achieving very positive results, with 64% victories in individual events and 57% in doubles. Arnau Ballester stood out, with full of victories; and Elsa Aliaga, Nerea Picó and Lidia Ramón, with three victories out of four possible.

On the other hand, the CB Xàtiva athlete Selenia Pla was summoned to participate in the National Parabádminton Concentration, held in Palos de la Frontera, within the activities of the Huelva World Badminton Championship. Mª José Mompó participated in the second parabádminton training sessions.
