Archery: the Archers de la Jeune Loire become an intercommunal club

The archery club Les Archers de la Jeune Loire is now an inter-municipal club on the Marches du Velay-Rochebaron. The next step will be the creation of a new land and building on the territory. Field research is heading towards Beauzac and Bas-en-Basset.

The elected officials validated the change of status for the Archers de la Jeune Loire on Tuesday evening. This recognition of the inter-communal character makes this association join the bosom of the Marches du Velay-Rochebaron, just like rugby, climbing, circus and athletics.

Activities are currently taking place in Monistrol-sur-Loire (boules pitch for indoor practice and annex ground next to the Beauvoir rugby stadium outdoors), Sainte-Sigolène (tennis court and athletics track) and Saint-Didier -en-Velay.

20th club nationally

Created ten years ago, the club is one of the references at regional and national level. With 85 licensees, one employee, labeled, the club is the 20th national club out of 1650.

Until then, the association had received a municipal subsidy from Sainte-Sigolène and Monistrol for an amount of € 5,728 on average over the last three years.

Towards the installation in a single municipality

This change seems trivial but it triggers a new phase in the development of the club which must in the near future focus on a single municipality and a single site. And it might not be any of the three current communes.

The community of communes tracks communal land likely to accommodate this activity. And this is currently leaning towards Bas-en-Basset and Beauzac. “You need a field as large as a football stadium. Our model is the Beaulieu shooting range, with at least a regional dimension and the possibility of shooting indoors and outdoors”, indicates Xavier Delpy, president of the community of municipalities .
