Czech women’s tennis must do without another big name at the Australian Open. After Karolína Plíšková, Karolína Muchová, who is not fit, also withdrew from the opening Grand Slam.
“I’m sorry I won’t start the 2022 season in tournaments in Australia. I’m doing my best to be fit and back on the court as soon as possible,” Muchová told her fans on social networks.
It was at the Australian Open that the 25-year-old tennis player had her greatest success when she played the semifinals here this year and fell after a fight with the American Brady.
Now, however, Karolína Muchová will unfortunately join the injured Karolína Plíšková, who again played the semifinals of the Australian Grand Slam the year before last. “I understand you don’t go if I don’t. “ she commented with a smile on her namesake Plíšková.
It is not known what the injury is in the case of the Olomouc native.
