In this new season, matches postponed due to covid-19 cases seemed things of the past. Everything had returned to its normal course and was proceeding with a certain normality. However, unfortunately, the pandemic is affecting all areas, including sports. In recent weeks, many clubs from different disciplines have been affected by the virus and have had to suspend their respective commitments. One of them is Trapagaran who plays in the First National Handball team.

The mining complex accumulates two weeks without competing because of the covid-19. It all came up on Thursday, December 9, when a physical therapist from the club reported that he had tested positive. That same week, he had treated four or five first-team players who had trained alongside the rest of his teammates. Therefore, a large part of the staff had to undergo the relevant tests and confine themselves to their respective homes. The training sessions were suspended and consequently it has been impossible for them to play these past two days.

None of the first team players has tested positive, but even so they had to adhere to the protocol and be locked up for ten days. This has meant that they have not played their last two games against Urduliz and Beti Onak. Both have been postponed. The first of them had to play it at home and there is not too much concern to fit it into the calendar. The closeness between the two teams makes it easier for them to square it well. In fact, they already consider celebrating it the second week of January, sometime a week. However, the match against Beti Onak is in Villava, near Pamplona. It should also be during the week and most Trapagaran players have a separate job. It will be difficult to reconcile it without there being numerous casualties.
