According to the report of the competent entities, the incident occurred in the early hours of the morning inside a gallera located in the Crucero de Pandiguando village, two hours away from the urban center of this agricultural region. The first investigations indicate that a fight broke out inside the public establishment, resulting in injury to Nilson Andrés Buitrón Hormiga, who works in agriculture. One of the officials indicated that the affected man had a wound in his right hand with involvement in the wrist. Due to the severity of the injury, he was taken to the local hospital facilities, where he received specialized care. After being assessed, the doctors on duty ordered him to be transferred to the emergency room of the San José de Popayán University Hospital, where he had to undergo surgery.
