Schwarzman and Schumacher reunited
Robert Schwarzman will take the wheel for the Haas team at the Young Driver test drives in Abu Dhabi, the team announced on Thursday. The Russian was Mick Schumacher’s team-mate in Formula 2 and is also part of the Ferrari Academy, for which he was also able to test in Fiorano.
“We’re looking forward to testing with Robert in Yas Marina in December,” says team boss Günther Steiner. “He is obviously very much valued by Ferrari – he has been part of their driver program since the end of 2017. His skills are clearly evident when you look at his performance over the past few years.”
Schwarzman himself says: “This will be my first test with Haas and I am really looking forward to getting to know a new team and a new environment and to learn as much as possible from them. The chance for another Formula One -Team driving is just amazing and I can’t wait to work with everyone. “
The Russian is currently third in Formula 2 behind Oscar Piastri and the new Alfa Romeo driver Guanyu Zhou.
Alonso: Bicycle accident as a minor handicap
Fernando Alonso has admitted that his injuries, which he sustained in his bicycle accident in winter, slowed him down a little.
“In retrospect, if I look at how the season started for me, I would have needed more time in the car in winter, in the simulator, in the factory. I missed a test in Paul Ricard with the 2018 car, the the team did, “admits Alonso im Podcast ‘Beyond the Grid’ to.
“It took me five or six races to get to 100 percent. Without the accident it might only have been two or three.”
What the points say
Only Max Verstappen can become world champion in Saudi Arabia. Even if Lewis Hamilton wins in Jeddah and takes the fastest race lap and Verstappen fails, the Brit cannot celebrate, because then he would travel to the World Cup final with “only” 18 points.
The decision is already made in Saudi Arabia:
– Verstappen 1st + fastest lap & Hamilton maximum 6th
– Verstappen 1. & Hamilton maximal 7.
– Verstappen 2nd + fastest lap & Hamilton maximum 10.
– Verstappen 2nd & Hamilton without points
Horner vs. Wolff
In the fight for the World Cup, the focus is primarily on two characters who are not in the car: The two team bosses Horner and Wolff, who currently don’t always seem to agree. In Qatar, Horner had produced the pithy sentence: “I don’t have to kiss Toto on the ass.”
He countered: “He was pretty focused on my bum and I don’t know why.” Wolff himself has no problem with this choice of words, but it is striking how much the friction has increased over the course of the season.

What Horner can do as a punishment
For his derogatory testimony to a sports manager, Red Bull team boss Christian Horner of the FIA became officially warned. In addition, according to the commissioners, the Briton has agreed to take part in the international commissioner training at the beginning of February (which, according to Horners, was agreed when he was no longer in the room).
But what does he have to do there? “He has agreed to attend,” says race director Michael Masi. “This is a two-day seminar and there is a lot to talk about. There will be many topics and maybe we’ll give him a topic to introduce.”
