Judoka Fabiola Díaz won Venezuela’s first gold medal at the Cali-Valle 2021 Junior Pan American Games on Friday, beating Mexican Renata Ortiz in the 52 kilogram final by ippon.

The judoka Willis García, won the second gold medal in the 66 kilograms category, provisionally positioning Venezuela in eighth place in the medal table with seven medals achieved on the day.



President Nicolás Maduro, expressed via Twitter his pride in the sports performance in which they managed to harvest seven medals in total, a work that positions Venezuela in eighth place in the medal table of the Cali 2021 Junior Pan American Games, in Colombia.

Brazil took the lead in the 2021 Cali-Valle Junior Pan American Games on Friday, with 10 gold, five silver and the same bronze medal, while 17 other nations add at least one medal.
