Toti, Hamza, Corsini and Ferrigno win

It was a Sunday full of Badminton with many exciting matches, which ended in the third set that awarded the tricolors to the PalaBadminton in Milan on the occasion of the Absolute Italian Championships and ParaBadminton Decathlon Perfly 2021.

The queen categories went to Giovanni Toti (CS Army) and Yasmine Hamza (SSV Bozen) who both won in three sets in the finals.

Toti after giving up the first set, Fabio Caponio (CS Aereonatica) recovered significantly and then closed in the third set (12-21; 21-13; 21-15). The Clarense dominated through some impregnable smash that instead had been missed in the first part.

The Hamza final in the women’s singles with teammate Katharina Fink took place with the same dynamics. In fact Hamza, confirmed herself as champion, after having given up the first set she did not let her opponent escape by clearly closing the other two partials (13-21; 21-7; 21-8).

Two doubles at the end of the day: the first by Yuri Ferrigno (BC Milan), who after the men’s doubles title won yesterday, reaffirmed today in the men’s singles WH2 overcoming in two sets (21-12; 21-10) Piero Rosario Suma (GSPD).

The queen of the doubles is Martina Corsini (BC Milan), capable of conquering both the women’s doubles and mixed doubles title. The Milanese together with Judith Mair (ASV Malles) ruled in two sets (21-16; 21-19) Hamza and Fink and with teammate Gianmarco Bailetti she triumphed in the mixed doubles, always in two halves (23-21; 21-15) against David Salutt and Chiara Passeri (SC Meran / GSA Chiari).

The men’s doubles title, on the other hand, went to Giovanni Greco and Kevin Strobl, more lucid in the decisive moments and able at the end of an exciting match to get the better of Fabio in three sets (23-21; 19-21; 22-20) Caponio and Giovanni Toti.

The last title of the day went to Alessandro Pitzianti (Differamente Sport) who thus succeeds his club mate Adriano Tiberi, who was beaten in three sets (15-21; 21-14; 21-13) in a thrilling final.

Regarding the Team Cup it was in both cases a first time with the GSPD securing the title in ParaBadminton while GSA Chiari won in Badminton.
