New medal for Teddy Riner. For his first competition since the Tokyo Olympics, the judoka finished third in the French men’s team championships with Paris Saint-Germain, Sunday, November 14, in Perpignan.
PSG passed the first two rounds without a hitch, before being beaten sharply in the quarter-finals (3-0) by Flam 91 (crowned champion of France), without Riner being able to enter the tatami for this duel. The Parisians then went through the draft table and won their three encounters to clinch bronze. A metal also obtained by the women’s team, in which the Olympic champions Amandine Buchard and Romane Dicko play in particular.

The French championships marked a brief return to competition for Riner, who will resume serious business in January (start of the judo season). From Tokyo, where he brought home a bronze medal in +100 kg and an Olympic team title, the 32-year-old judoka said he had “profit from [ses] medals [sa] family and blew “.
