“The deviation value will increase by 5,” A winning item used by the former coach of the University of Tokyo baseball team for scouting | Full-Count

The headband printed with “The University of Tokyo” is a “winning item” that increases the deviation value by 5.

Kazushi Hamada, who was the director of the University of Tokyo baseball club from 2013 to 2019 and demonstrated his skills, is currently the head of the Ai Seibu Gakuin, a cram school that aims to balance club activities and study. In the project “Hikidasu Himitsu,” which introduces tips for teaching youth baseball, we will delve deeper into Mr. Hamada’s teaching method that will make both Bunbu and Budo come true. The first is how to make a player feel like that. It is said that there are items that can “increase the deviation value by 5”.

When I was a coach of the University of Tokyo baseball club, I visited all 47 prefectures by scouting players. You may think that it is unavoidable to go to a scout even though the University of Tokyo does not have a sports recommendation, but if you actually go and solicit with enthusiasm, good players will come in. Among them, there are some players like Kohei Miyadai (Yakult) who are professional players. There are many children all over the country who are hiding even if they have the ability.

Scouting begins when a child who has never thought about the University of Tokyo wants to go to the University of Tokyo. In that sense, super-advanced schools such as Nada and Kaisei are not covered. I often went to local colleges that had experience in Koshien, such as Shizuoka, Tochiku (Fukuoka), and Hikone Higashi (Shiga).

All the children who play baseball at such schools are aiming for both Bunbu and Budo. That’s why I ask, “Why don’t you aim for the highest peak of both Bunbu and Budo?” Then, you will be aware of “The University of Tokyo” that you have never thought of before.

Therefore, we will present a headband printed with the pale blue “University of Tokyo”. This headband is a winning item that increases the deviation value by 5. Just turning on the switch “I want to go to the University of Tokyo” is enough to have that effect.

Every year, about 200 people are listed by the summer vacation. After that, I left out because of the recommendation of a designated school to Waseda and Keio, and because I wanted to go to the local medical school, so about 30 people actually took the exam. Of those, only 4 or 5 pass, so the “yield” is very bad. But it is important to make such an effort. If you raise the deviation value of 200 people by 5, 4 or 5 of them will be able to manage. That’s why I make 200 headbands every year.
