Swimming, skateboarding and judo elevate Brazil to the top of Cali-Valle

Cali, Colombia, Nov 26 (Prensa Latina) With a leading role for the exponents of swimming, judo and skateboarding, Brazil closes today with 10 titles at the top of the general medal table of the Junior Pan American Games in Cali-Valle 2021.

The Aurgreen exponents harvested nine medals (4-3-2) at the Hernando Botero aquatic center and catapulted the delegation to the forefront, ahead of the United States (7-3-8) and Colombia (7-0 -10), occupying positions two and three, respectively.

In the pool, Maria Paula Mangabeira and Matheus Ferreira dominated the 400 freestyle and the 200 butterfly; respectively; to collect all the praise individually and together with the success of the female and male quartet of the 4 × 100 meter relay they won half of the finals of the discipline on this date.

On the track of the Skate Park of this city, Brazil exhibited talent and skills on the ramp and thanks to the performances of Pamela Rosa and Lucas Rabelo added two other champions, by winning in the Street modality in the debut of skateboarding in multisport events of America.

Of the tatami mats located in the Jamundí branch, the delegation of the South American giant celebrated the successes of Alexia Vitoria (48 kg) and Grabriel Falcao (73 kg), as well as the bronze metals of Matheus Roberto Pereira (66 kg) and Nauana Aparecida (63 kg).

The remaining two Brazilian crowns came through Sandy Camila Leite, queen of 57 kg in taekwondo, and Miguel Lopes Hidalgo, who crossed the finish line of the individual triathlon first in areas surrounding Lake Calima.

With one of the most numerous delegations, Brazil exhibits 20 medals (10-5-5) in eight sports in the seat of honor and, in addition to the United States and Colombia, the representations of Mexico (4- 18-15) and Argentina (4-4-5), fourth and fifth, in that order.

So far, the list of medalists for Cali-Valle 2021 features 18 nations with at least one award with Chile (3-3-5), Cuba (3-2-2), Venezuela (2-2-3), Dominican Republic (2-1-1) and Ecuador (1-1-1) in places six to 10, respectively.
