Soles stays alive, Fuerza Regia takes advantage in LNBP zone finals

The zone finals in the National Professional Basketball League resumed, with victories for Soles de Mexicali and Fuerza Regia, which put things red hot in the fight to advance to the final series.

In Fresnillo, Fuerza Regia claimed the loss they suffered at home and beat the Plateros 86-83 to take advantage of this 2-1 East Zone final. Daniel Bejarano hit two free throws down the stretch and thereby ensured the victory for Monterrey who now have a chance to finish the series tonight. JJ Avila was the best scorer with 20 points off the bench, while Oderah Anosike finished with 17.

In Mexicali, back home, the Suns took the breed out and avoided the sweep against the Astros de Jalisco whom they beat with a score of 91-73 to get closer to 2-1 in the series. Balanced attack by the Suns with four of their starters scoring more than 10 points, Erik Thomas led the attack with 22, followed by Lucas Martínez with 14.

There is no tomorrow for Plateros and Soles, who must win to force a fifth and final game in both series.
