Actor of the return of SC Bastia to the forefront, Anthony Martin faces the Corsican club on Friday with Les Herbiers. With a lot of emotions.

After a freelance at SO Cholet, you signed for Les Herbiers. Was it a desire to stay in the region?

“This summer, I had leads abroad, in Greece and Algeria, but it did not materialize. In July, I made a successful attempt at SC Amiens to be Régis Gurtner’s understudy. But the club had to part ways with another keeper, which could not be the case. Les Herbiers contacted me when Rémi Pillot was injured and it was a good opportunity because I was able to play without having to move, without the children changing schools. “

By signing in Amiens, you would have been number 2, did you not mind?

“Not at all because I have played a lot in my career. Last year, I was a replacement at SO Cholet and that didn’t bother me. I prefer to have a number 2 role by being considered, by having something to contribute to my club. “

Rémi Pillot has resumed training. Are you going to be competing in the next few weeks?

“We have not planned at all for the moment, we have not talked about it with the coach. “

“Above all, I want to continue to flourish! “

On Friday, you come back to SC Bastia where you spent three great seasons. Must it be special?

“Before the draw for the seventh round, I felt that we would have a Corsican club in our hat because the FFF uses it to balance the groups. And it was also played a bit – finally a ball – so that we play them right away. We could even not have played them at all because we had a very difficult match against Saumur (National 3) with a penalty shootout. But I was motivated because I stopped two (laughs). “

You know this SCB team well …

“Yes, it’s very special because two-thirds of the workforce are still there in Ligue 2. I’m going to see some real friends with whom we had a great adventure and two climbs from National 3 to National 1. So it will inevitably be Very peculiar. The club has given me a lot and I think it’s mutual. I remain a true supporter of Sporting. I have a lot of respect for the institution, for the supporters. But I can also say that I participated in the new club project! “

At 32, how do you see the rest of your career?

“Beyond football, I’m looking for human adventures. I do not run after contracts, otherwise I will have signed in other National 2 clubs last summer because I had a lot of proposals. Above all, I want to continue to flourish, I want to find projects that inspire me! “
