A point chase took place early in the second set, with Praveen/Melati leading 7-6 and closing the interval 11-10. Supak/Supissara kept trying to catch up, but it was Praveen/Melati who finally came out victorious with a score 21-19.

This victory brought Praveen/Melati to the mixed doubles final of the German Open 2021. This Red and White representative has been waiting for another Thai pair, Dechapool Puavaranukroh/Sapsiree Taerattanachai.

Dechapool/Sapsiree defeated the representatives of Indonesia, Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari. The first seed won in straight sets 22-20 and 21-14.
