Osoto Gaeshi (Great foreign return) is one of the techniques adopted by the Kodokan in their Shinmeisho No Waza (recently accepted techniques) list. It is classified as a foot technique, Ashi-waza. It is essentially a counterattack or reversal for Osoto gari.
Description of the technique
When the opponent steps in to attempt a Osoto Gari , the tori defends himself by pulling his back foot back and twisting his torso, doing so by knocking down uke using the same shot.
