NFL: Jaylon Smith already released by Green Bay Packers

The Green Bay Packers released Jaylon Smith less than a month after offering the former Dallas Cowboys linebacker a contract.

Smith’s agent Doug Hendrickson confirmed on Tuesday that the 26-year-old has been released. The ESPN network was the first to report the information.

Smith had joined the Packers on October 7, the day after the Cowboys’ decision to release him. Smith led the Cowboys in defensive tackles in 2019 and 2020, but was never able to establish himself with the Packers.

He played a total of 27 defensive games, spread over two games, with the Wisconsin roster.
