Naples coach Luciano Spalletti refuses a handshake

In the Europa League, SSC Napoli suffered a defeat against Spartak Moscow. Too much for coach Luciano Spalletti: When the opposing coach wanted to see him off with a handshake, he refused.

An unsportsmanlike scene from Naples coach Luciano Spalletti ended the Europa League evening at Spartak Moscow ugly. After the Serie A club lost 2-1, Rui Vitória, the coach of the Russian club, approached Spalletti and shook his hand. But the Italian did not want to strike, refused and raised his hands.

While the Naples coach ran away, Vitória looked visibly disappointed and confused. He just nodded with a pout. Spalletti could not endure the second bankruptcy against the club of the German general manager Tomas Zorn.

Naples had already lost the first leg against Spartak 2: 3. It was the second competitive game defeat in a row. At the weekend, Napoli had their first Serie A defeat of the season in a 3-2 draw against Inter Milan.

Spartak climbed from fourth to first place in Group C at least until Thursday. Alexander Sobolew set the course for victory with goals in the 3rd (foul penalty) and 28th minute. Eljif Elmas (64th) only managed to catch up after the break.

Luciano Spalletti has been coach of Napoli since July of this year and still has a contract until 2023. This season, SSC Napoli has won ten Serie A wins and two games have ended in a draw. Only against Inter there was a defeat recently.
