Motilones del Norte does not stop: it devoured Tigrillos in the Wplay League

Motilones del Norte had another outstanding day reaching its seventh consecutive victory by defeating Tigrillos de Medellín 59-53 in a very close duel where the American Miles Bowman Jr shone with 11 points and 15 rebounds won.

The rojinegros, who already have their place guaranteed to the quarterfinals, only have the duels against the current four-time champion Titanes de Barranquilla and Piratas de Bogotá.

At the moment, the quintet that represents Norte de Santander is first in the table of positions of the regular season (phase of all against all).

Motilones started ineffective at the time of scoring and with a too slow setback, he left his rival with numerical superiority at the time of attack.

With the rebelliousness of his personality, Colomé again collided with the technical director, a fact that led him to the bench with Richard Bautista, with whom he had not had the connection shown in other games. Daniel Acevedo and Simón Granados entered, when with 3 minutes to go, the rojinegros only had 2 points.

To give a greater variation, the Colombian-Venezuelan Néstor Morán and the Colombian-American Gyvanni González entered, who discounted before the end of the first quarter (8-14).

Ortega gave continuity to the quintet that closed the beginning of the game, with the change of Luis Santos for Jhon Vélez.

The rojinegros yielded some points, but the parity was going to be given thanks to the effectiveness of triples – 3 from Acevedo and 1 from Morán.

Motilones’ first lead in the game came with 5 minutes to go to the end of the second half (21-19). From that moment, the frontiersmen who played in white began to have a more dynamic game with the return of Colomé to the field, who had previously had a reproach with his teammates and coach.

The duel remained closed and although it seemed that the Antioquia team would close the half with a two-point advantage, a triple by Colomé equalized (28-28).

In the third quarter, Ortega admitted Andrés Zapata. For his part, Santos suffered a spectacular fall that fortunately did not cause any injury because despite leaving for a few minutes he would enter again.

The 10 minutes were tight, with a Paisa cast determined to regain the advantage they had in the beginning, but found a determined Motilones who adjusted their collective game.

As in the second, Colomé scored a triplazo from long distance to consummate an advantage of 7, (47-40) facing the last minutes.

The last quarter was a fight of the titans between the Antioqueños and the North Santander in which the runners-up from the previous semester finally won 12-13 but were not enough to equal the actions that would close 59-53.
