Uruguay obtained silver and bronze medals in the Judo Pan American Children’s Championship that is taking place in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, with great performances.
The celestial Mateo Malfatti was left with the triumph in the sub-13 category for less than 34 kilograms after defeating the local Missael Santos by ippon and then the American Samuel Adelmalak with the same formula.

In the final, in a highly contested fight that was defined in the closing seconds, he fell to the Ecuadorian Emiliano García. In this way Malfatti got the silver medal.
Later it was the turn of the Uruguayan Luisana Ramírez, also in the sub-13 but in the category minus 42 kilograms where she won the bronze medal. In the fight to get on the podium, she beat Dominican Laudy García by ippon.
