Ligue 2: an Anglo-Sri Lankan investor in Paris FC

Bahrain and now South Asia with India and Sri Lanka. One year after the arrival of Bahrain as a minority shareholder (20%), Paris FC continues to expand internationally. President Pierre Ferracci has finalized the entry of Anglo-Sri Lankan entrepreneur Allirajah Subaskaran into the club’s capital up to 10%. Founder and chairman of all companies in the Lyca group (telecommunications) in the United Kingdom, he joined the club currently ranked 5th in L2 through his holding company BRI Sports Holdings, which he wholly owns.

“I am very happy to welcome Allirajah Subaskaran to Paris FC,” says Pierre Ferracci. Paris aims to have an internationalized round table. I believe in a vision of football that brings together and we contribute to it by welcoming several cultures within the club. The arrival of this new investor will allow Paris FC to increase its equity, prepare for an increase in L1, make new investments in Orly and develop our know-how in terms of international training. Today, we have the best level of sponsorship in L2 even if we have less ticket revenue than the others. This is an unprecedented opportunity and a unique alternative, since to date there is no South Asian investor in French football. The potential is immense. “

In addition to the financial investment in the capital, Allirajah Subaskaran, via its network, will allow Paris FC to find new markets in India and Sri Lanka. Indian companies could also become partners of the club. Allirajah Subaskaran owns the Jaffna Kings franchise in the Lanka Premier League’s Twenty 20 professional cricket competition. Lyca Mobile has been a partner of Premier League club West Ham since 2012.

Discussions with Armenian investors

“Paris FC is a very ambitious club which quickly put in place the investments and infrastructure necessary to exploit the club’s potential and propel it to the next level of French men’s football,” underlines Allirajah Subaskaran. Very well led by President Pierre Ferracci, Paris FC is developing its resources on all fronts with the stated objective of moving up to Ligue 1 in the next two years, and of continuing to develop its women’s team. Paris holds a special place in my heart, having lived there when I arrived in Europe, and I am delighted to play a role in helping Paris FC and its fans to make their dreams come true. “

A third investor, this time Armenian, should also enter the capital up to 10% in the coming months. In addition to the international, the president of Paris FC will also open the capital to a pool of regional and national investors. “The negotiations are progressing well”, explains Pierre Ferracci who will keep, whatever happens, the majority of the club.
