Running back Le’Veon Bell’s time with the Ravens was brief as he was released by the Baltimore team on Tuesday.
“It hurts, but it was a blessing to be here,” the 29-year-old wrote on his Twitter account. I enjoyed every second of this short time and have a whole new appreciation for the city. Thanks to Eric DeCosta [directeur général] and John Harbaugh [entraîneur-chef] for allowing me to be a Raven. “
Hired on the reserve team at the end of September, Bell was promoted to the first team in the fourth week of operations. In five games in the Ravens’ uniform, he ran the ball 31 times for 83 yards and two touchdowns.
The Baltimore club had decided to give him a chance after losing the services of JK Dobbins, Gus Edwards and Justice Hill.
Bell is far from being the dominant running back with the Pittsburgh Steelers from 2013 to 2017. In 2018, he decided to retire from the season, after refusing the label of the Pennsylvania franchise player. He made a return to the NFL with the New York Jets the following season. Since then, he has also worn the colors of the Kansas City Chiefs.
Getting back to the Ravens, they’ll trust Latavius Murray, Devonta Freeman and Ty’Son Williams in their backfield for the remainder of the campaign.
