Horst Leneis celebrates 70th | Local sport

(bf). Horst Leneis has made a name for himself in the scene as a martial artist, trainer and teacher. Not only in the Wetterau and Hesse. In 1972 he founded the Weisse Krabbe (formerly Taifun Friedberg), a sports and cultural association for Western and Asian martial arts, and has since become an integral part of the sports region. Leneis recently turned 70.

Date of birth.

The Friedberg exceptional athlete was able to achieve several German championship titles, the title of European champion and a third place at the world championships. Furthermore, Leneis was the national coach of the national team in karate for several years. He is the proud holder of the 10th Dan in Kung Fu, the 4th Dan in Karate and the 3rd Dan in Judo.

But the successes of his protégés have always been more important to him. As a coach, he produced seven world champions, including his daughter and granddaughter. He coached several European champions, German champions and team champions. Some of his best students have also been able to become self-employed over time. For his success, he has also been named “Sportsman of the Year” a number of times by the city council of Friedberg.

Even today, Leneis supports the Weisse Krabbe and trains the Black Belt and trainer group. Since the martial arts and teaching are very important to him and the sport runs like a red thread through his life, he is of course also responsible for the adults in the Wetteraukreis.

“The Weisse Krabbe and more than 1000” alumni “and students would like to thank their grandmaster Sijosigung for the commitment, the euphoria and the ambition in the martial arts as well as for the more than 50 years of successful work that he continues to do today,” says Daniela Leneis .
