Henry ‘La Mosca’ Caicedo’s condition continues to be very critical. After suffering a stroke last Saturday, the former central defender of Deportivo Cali and the Colombian National Team, runner-up in the 1978 Copa Libertadores, continues to fight for his life in a clinic in the south of the capital of Valle del Cauca.
Margarita Caicedo, his sister, who has lived with him in recent years and has accompanied him in this difficult situation, spoke with FUTBOLRED about the current situation of the former soccer player: “Henry is still in his critical condition, they are doing a lot of tests, waiting for a procedure to be performed on his stomach to feed him, this morning the doctor saw him, he made some eye movements, a good sign, but we have to wait for the results of all the tests ”.
He added that “he is in a room, after the exams they will tell us if it is worth taking him to intensive care or not, he is very delicate, but first God, there is no one above him.”
Doña Margarita clarified that since 2017 her family member had been away from any addiction: “Henry was totally clean 4 years ago, two years ago he was totally locked up with me, he went out for a walk around the stadium and to eat a choladito, it was the only thing, but always in my company. I was totally healthy, I told the doctor and he told me that the stroke and the heart attack occur at any moment ”.
Mrs. Caicedo confessed that “I have a problem with his older children because friends are giving me for the buses and eating something there, and they are saying that I am asking, when on the contrary all I request is prayer so that the Lord, I stopped him from that bed ”.
“This morning they even offered me some diapers and I replied to the girl who offered them that I thanked her, but my EPS gives me the diapers, so I told her to give them to a lady from Tuluá who did need them and to us. he will give us a prayer ”.
But, according to her, another inconvenience was added to the clinical condition of the 69-year-old former player: “At the clinic I have a problem, this morning one of them came to beat me there, he touched my brother’s chest hard and said ‘stop , stand up, you’re leaving here, I’ll take you ‘. That is why I requested a restriction to the family, but they answered that they could not, since they had to have a document from the authorities and here I am at the Prosecutor’s Office to request it. “
Regarding the reaction of the former soccer player’s children, he stated that “I don’t know why they are like this, they have always been very rude, they did not help him at all, there are four men and three women, they have taken a lot of things through the networks, but the people know how we have been with my brother. When the trip to Cuba, the one who helped me was Dr. Mario Alfonso Escobar, everything was me, the doctors, they all know me ”.
Regarding whether the children have previously been pending on Henry, Mrs. Margarita added: “None of them went to visit him once and treated him horrible, so I told him not to come back so as not to affect his psychiatric and psychological treatment at home. It is a very sad situation, your soul hurts, all your life you have been estranged from your father. They are between 30 and 38 years old. We are good people, adult people, so they treat us like this, and they hit him hard on the chest, a person who is delicate in bed ”.

Regarding the memories of his brother as a player, he confessed that “it was enriching for the family, we were happy, I hardly liked going, but my sisters were there every eight days. My father, Jorge Caicedo Ramírez, was a fan of Deportivo Cali, he was a builder and made his savings every month to go with them to the Copa Libertadores ”.
