Football: for the fourth time, Messin Udol victim of a rupture of the cruciate ligaments of the right knee

FC Metz defender Matthieu Udol will be absent from the field for several months after suffering a new rupture of the cruciate ligaments of the knee, the fourth of his career, Sunday 7, during the Ligue 1 match in Marseille (0-0), announced the Lorraine club this Tuesday, November 9.

The 25-year-old defender came on in the 62nd minute of the game but injured his right knee after a quarter of an hour on the pitch and had to give up his place in the 79th minute.

It is a blow for FC Metz which loses one of its usual holders in defense: Udol has indeed taken part in 12 of the 13 league matches of the Lorraine club this season, scoring a goal in the process.

The season of the left side, who can also evolve to the position of central defender is therefore a priori over: a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament normally means at least six months of unavailability.

Between July 2016 and the end of 2018, Matthieu Udol, a pure product of Metz training, has already suffered from three ruptures of the cruciate ligaments of the right knee. He also underwent meniscus surgery on his right knee at the end of November 2020 and had been absent for several weeks.
