Coronavirus is bothering German national team: one infection, four men in quarantine

Hansi Flick, the head coach of the German national football team, has called up three new players for the World Cup qualifiers with Liechtenstein and Armenia after a positive corona test from Bayern Munich defender Niklas Süle.

In addition to Sule, four others with whom he had been in close contact were also quarantined: his clubmates Joshua Kimmich, Serge Gnabry and Jamal Musiala and Karim Adeyemi of Red Bull Salzburg. Florian Wirtz and Nico Schlotterbeck had already dropped out due to injuries.

Flick has now added Ridle Baku, Maximilian Arnold (both from VfL Wolfsburg) and Kevin Volland (AS Monaco) to the selection, after he already called up Jonathan Tah (Bayer Leverkusen) on Monday.

Unvaccinated Kimmich

According to the DFB, the German Football Association, Süle has been fully vaccinated and had no corona-related complaints. The four players who have been quarantined as a precaution had a negative test result.
