The Spaniard Paula Badosa is the second player to reach the semi-finals at the WTA Finals in Guadalajara. She comes against the Greek Maria Sakkari for the second victory.
Badosa, represented for the first time in the season finale of the best eight players, won against Sakkari 7: 6 (7: 4), 6: 4 and remained without losing a set. Sakkari and Aryna Sabalenka made the second semi-final place in this group on Monday. Sabalenka stayed in the race thanks to the three-set win over Iga Swiatek. Swiatek has no chance of advancing.
In the other group, Anett Kontaveit secured the semi-final qualification early.
