Ergin Ataman: Larkin played like a star in the last period

Anadolu Efes defeated Fenerbahçe Beko 89-84 on the road in the 12th week of Turkish Airlines Euroleague. At the press conference held after the struggle, Anadolu Efes Head Coach Ergin Ataman made a statement.

Stating that they could not play a good game in the first three periods of the match, Ergin Ataman said, “We did not play very well throughout the match. We had a lot of turnovers, especially during the three quarters. We couldn’t do the set attacks. We conceded too many points from fast attacks. I saw that Larkin was ready in the second half and he showed it when he took the field. He played like a star in the last quarter and brought us a very important win.”

“MICIC LOSSED TOO MUCH TODAY AND IT GOT ME ANGRY”

When asked about Vasilije Micic’s performance tonight and the way he used him in the last period, Ataman said, “Micic made a lot of turnovers tonight and it pissed me off. With these turnovers from the quarterback, you are in a very difficult situation. In the last part of the match, we had to play with three shorts. In the last quarter, we aimed to benefit from Larkin by keeping Micic on the field and dividing Fenerbahçe’s concentration into two. We were successful in this too. Micic stayed on the field so that he could focus on the defense a little bit.”
