City-PSG: Marco Verratti uncertain

He was feeling better and showing his motivation. Tuesday evening, in a press conference before the last training on the eve of facing Manchester City (9 p.m.), Marco Verratti had a smile and a mad desire to return to the Champions League. He had indeed missed the last trip to Leipzig because of his hip injury suffered in Marseille on October 24. Verratti made his return to competition last Saturday, at the Parc, against Nantes (3-1).

Only, during the session at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday evening, Verratti was hit in the leg and he left the pitch limping, as journalist Saber Desfarges indicated, which we can confirm. This Wednesday morning, there was a real doubt on the Parisian side on the participation of the Italian midfielder in the shock of this 5th day in Manchester.

His absence would be a blow to Paris. The match in Leipzig in particular had shown how valuable his presence in midfield is. At the end of the first leg and the Paris victory (2-0), at the end of September, Pep Guardiola, the Mancuni coach, had even said he was “in love” with Verratti who had been brilliant.

According to RMC, Georginio Wilnaldum also came out touched and left Tuesday’s session before the end. In England, Mauricio Pochettino could therefore have to choose between Leandro Paredes, Idrissa Gueye, Danilo, Herrera, Eric Junior Dina Ebimbe or Di Maria to compose his midfielder.
