Würzburg (dpa) – title contender FC Bayern Munich has surprisingly blundered in the basketball Bundesliga.

In a catch-up game on the second match day, the Munich team lost after a weak third quarter at s.Oliver Würzburg 70:90 (42:46) and after four league wins in a row they suffered the second defeat of the season. Würzburg, on the other hand, scored the third success. The best thrower for the hosts was William Buford with 23 points. For the Munich team, Deshaun Thomas and Nihad Djedovic were the most successful with twelve points each.
The Munich team, stressed out by the Euroleague, never really got into the game in the Bayern derby. Würzburg took control in the middle of the first quarter and, after a short break, continuously expanded the lead from the third round. The third section went to Würzburg at 15:26, the match was actually decided.
Even in the final section, the team of the Italian coach Andrea Trinchieri did not come back into the game. Würzburg kept his nerve and in the end even won with a clear 20 point lead.
