Barça: relapse for Ousmane Dembélé, injured in the left thigh

It was his club which announced it this Thursday: “Dembouz” (24 years old) suffers from an elongation of the semi-membranous muscle of the left hamstring. His unavailability has not been clarified by the Blaugrana, who take no risk and simply make it clear that “his recovery will dictate the pace at which his return will take place.” Back in training in early October, he made his first appearance in the squad at the end of October against Real Madrid and therefore slowly returned to competition, before the bad news.

For Ousmane Dembélé, it’s a new injury that is added to a pile that is becoming a mountain. The young Frenchman is on his eighth serious injury since the start of the 2019-20 season, for a total of 58 games missed. During the 2019-20 season, he had played only 9 games in all competitions, but had finally had a bit of a break last season (44 games played, 11 goals, 5 assists). This season seems to be starting on a more wobbly basis, with only one game played at the moment. A bad luck which Barça, like the Blues, and of course like the player himself, would probably happily do without.
