Badminton Huesca climbs to five podiums in the Spanish Under 15 and Under 11 Championships

The prolific badminton quarry Huesca showed his chest this weekend in the Spanish under-15 and under-11 championships in which his representatives climbed to five podiums. The Gállego brothers were national champions in their respective categories. Alejandro, the oldest, repeating the success he had already achieved as a sub 13, beat his clubmate, Raúl Bergua, in the final in Ponteareas (Galicia), who in May had been national champion among those born in 2008, and the second, Hugo, won in Oviedo. In addition, in doubles under 15 Bergua was second by Gonzalo Isabal and Alejandro Gállego, third with Alejandro Yagüe. All four can boast of having been international.

The sub 15 final was decided by 21-16, 16-21 and 21-8. The duel between two players who know each other more than well was one of streaks and fell on the side of Alejandro in a last set in which he recovered to the initial 1-3 to get ahead, distance himself and sentence. Gonzalo Isábal and Alejandro Yagües advanced in the individual draw to the quarterfinals.

In doubles, Bergua and Isabal lost in the title duel with the Balearic Ismael Oballe and Yaidel Gil (21-19 and 21-17). It was a fought clash and in which the Huesca people always had options. The champions had left Gállego and Yagües behind in the semifinal by 20-22, 21-19 and 21-17, which ruined what would have been an entirely Aragonese second final.
