Archery returns to the Parapan American Games

Drafting.- The organizing committee of the VII Parapan American Games Santiago de Chile 2023 confirmed the 17 sports that will be in the competition program, of the fair that will take place from November 17 to 26, 2023, with the presence of two thousand for athletes from all over the continent.

The sports that will meet in the maximum continental fair of adapted sport are: athletics, swimming, judo, taekwondo, wheelchair basketball, golbol, pc football, wheelchair tennis, wheelchair rugby, for tennis table, for powerlifting, for badminton, boccia, para sports shooting, football for the blind, for road and track cycling and the one for archery that will return to the competition program, after it was not competed in the last edition of Lima 2019.

The VII edition of the Parapan American Games will bring together delegations from 33 American countries, in a contest that will award places in some disciplines for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, for which the hosts made an important investment for the Villa and the creation of the first Chile’s Paralympic Training Center, a 6,600-square-meter venue that will house more than 10 disciplines.

In Lima 2019, Mexico achieved third place in the overall medal table of the Parapan American Games after winning 55 gold, 58 silver and 45 bronze medals, with a total of 158 metals, 45 more than in Toronto 2015.

Our country had the honor of holding the first edition of this fair, in Mexico City 1999, formerly the Federal District, which gathered around a thousand for athletes from 18 countries who competed in four sports.
